The music troupe of our college nurtures the talents of our students in Dance & Music and prepares them for State & National level events.               Rangantharanga –Theatre Club

The Theatre club looks into the acting talents of students and works towards their participation into various inter-collegiate activities like dramatics,skits,plays ,movie-making competitions etc. Screening of various dramas in various events and fest ,Workshops on various fields of theatre world, and Special lectures by Theatre and Film personalities have been a regular phenomenon of Rangantharanga.

Aparajita- Women Empowerment Cell

The main objective of the Cell is to educate our girl students in the areas of social, economic & legal awareness and information. Along with celebrating Women’s day every year, seminars and workshop are conducted regularly to make our girl students feel empowered.                 Prakruthi-Eco-Club

Eco Club strives towards creating awareness among students and citizens alike, about the importance of preserving ecological resources and protecting the environment. Student members, aptly called green ambassadors actively participate in planting saplings, awareness drives, screening documentaries, e-waste collection and safe disposal etc. Important occasions such as Wet Land Conservation Day, World Water Day is celebrated in a meaningful and enlightening way.

The club functions with the primary objective of creating awareness and educating the students about maintaining good health, healthy food habits, hygiene issues through health camps, lectures, awareness programs, Yoga and fitness classes.

Rotaract Club -“A drive to Social services & self-development”

Rotaract is a subsequent youth Organization of an International Organization called Rotary International formed in the year 1968 as a service club and its main focus being “fellowship and service”.Rotaract Club of SSMRV Degree College was started in the year 2008. It has been sponsored by Rotary Club of Bangalore Cantonment.

The various works done under the club mainly revolves around community services which includes : Newspaper Drive to YST ,Blood donation Camps,PDP,Visit to FAME India (school for differently abled children),Inter-Class Competitions & so on         Aaahana-Centre for Enterprenurship Development Cell

Young minds are the future of our countries’ economic and business growth. Keeping this in mind the EDP cell has been introduced to look into the managerial and entrepreneur skills of the students. Under this various activities like Guest lectures , competitions and events are planned and conducted .

PRAACHYA-Heritage Club

The club strives towards providing information relating to literature, history, heritage, culture. To collect important Articles, artfacts, paintings, old photographs etc. Students have been sent to various historical expeditions and remarkable achievements have been listed under this club like National Level Youth Seva award 2016 ,Inclusion in Wonder Book of Records.                SAAHASA- Adventure Club

Outdoor activities allows individual to access his / her own capabilities and limitations. Saahasa speaks about building confidence & leadership in students through various adventure sports.

DRISHYA VISMAYA- Film Club

The mission and purpose of the Film Club is to create awareness among the students about World Class Cinemas advocating for a new thought process in the young minds towards cinema and to inspire a change in them to make them look beyond the commercial value of cinema. The Club events focuses on exploring Cinema as a piece of art, the content and the idea of the film, and the role of the film maker in filmmaking, through forum , seminars , presentation , Film screenings .  English Literary Association –A saga retold

English Literary Association (ELA), an epitome of dialectal essence, serves as a platform to pursue the love towards English Literature and language beyond the classrooms. The main theme of ELA is to enhance the English skills (LSRW) among students, helping them to tackle placements and also relieve them of stage fear.

Center for Ethics and Governance

Centre for Ethics and Governance is an initiative of the undergraduate students with an objective of grooming the students towards ethical corporategovernance, Indian traditions and culture, moral code of conduct, national integration and social responsibilities through various programs under the mentorship of the faculties.

Awareness program in association with CEDOK (Centre for Entrepreneurial Develop Of Karnataka)

On 12& 13th march Entrepreneurship cell had conducted an awareness program in association with CEDOK (Centre for Entrepreneurial Develop Of Karnataka)  which is an initiative of government of karnataka to encourage more number of Entrepreneurs in the state. The session gave an insight to the students what are the different types of loan n facilities available for people aspiring to become an Entrepreneur and also the facilities available for Women Entrepreneurs. Further, for interested students, 3 days free training program from the government of karnataka will be scheduled which trains then how to start a new venture? How to do the market research?  Who are your customers?  And so on

SSMRV ED Cell Inauguration Report

The inaugural function of Aahana – centre for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) was organised on 4th November 2017. All the core members and volunteers of CED were actively involved in organising the event. The chief guest for the programme was Mr Rahil Ahmed, an young and dynamic entrepreneur who runs an enterprise called percoyo systems and the guest of honour was Mr Bhavesh R Shah, who owns a medical equipment company called max life Ind. The meeting was presided by our principal Dr S Anil Kumar.. The event was an eye opener for several young entrepreneurship enthusiasts as both the guests shared their early career stories and inspired the students to take up part time ventures. Our principal emphasized on how our ed cell can be used as a tipping point for various business start ups. Our Director focused on the ethical and honesty aspects of business. The vote of thanks was proposed by Gokul c, convener, CED….

Chaitnya – Remedial Coaching

CHAITANYA- Entry into Service & Remedial Coaching Centre

For the benefit of average and below average students especially those from minorites, the remedial coaching centre provides free coaching classes after the class hours so that special attention could be given to them in order to come out of their difficulties and problems in understanding the concepts which they couldn’t understand in regular classes.

The Centre mainly features Remedial Coaching for Entrance examinations like Competitive Examinatons i.e IAS,KAS,Bank,CA etc.

One Day visit to Freedom Park

The volunteers of eco club along with its coordinator Dr T D Nagendra Kumar visited the freedom park on 23rd Feb 2019. The same was organized to create awareness about the valuable resource called  Save Trees, Save water..!!

Dr.T.D. Nagendra Kumar, Convenor EcoClub welcomed the gathering.Introduced the Chief guest and Principal. Sri. K B Manjunath,DCF Dept. Of Environment &Forest,GOk was the chief guest. Dr. S.  Anil Kumar , Principal chaired the session  and briefed about   various academic & club acvities of the College and special reference to EcoClub. Induction of new members & Office bearer to the club. Report of the EcoClub was presented.Chief guest shared his experiences and expressed the importance forests to conserve and to protect Environment.Chief guest was falicitated and programme concluded with vote of thanks.

Anti Drug Cell

Drug Abuse Awareness Drive on 14th Sept 2018

The anti drug cell of SSMRV college in association with the police department organised a drug abuse awareness drive on 14th Sept 2018 at the college campus. The circle inspector and the sub inspector of Jayanagar police station addressed the students about the ill effects of using drugs. As a follow up the ACP of the Jayanagar jurisdiction , Sri Basave Gowda had a meeting with the anti drug cell members on 15th Sept 2018 and mentioned how teachers can play a great role in mitigating this menace of drug abuse. The anti drug cell is a newly formed cell, as per the instructions of the Home ministry, to check the usage of drugs at educational institutions. The anti drug cell of SSMRV College encompasses the Principal, Senior faculty members Sri M V Dinesh, Dr Helen Cunha, Senior advocate Sri Harish N Physical Education Director, Dr Arun M N. and the student council.

ammilana – Alumni Club

Ssmrv college Alumni association organised Sammilana – The Annual alumni meet on 17th Feb 2018. It was a day of fun and vigour with events like gully cricket, selfie booth etc. The chief guest for the event was Sri Vijay Kumar, KAS who is currently the Asst commissioner, GST, Govt of Karnataka and  an alumni of Ssmrv college.The event was presided by Sri D P Nagaraj, Joint secretary, RSST. It was an evening of dance, drama and musical extravaganza….

 Udothana – Counselling Cell

UDYOTNA- Center for Counselling Cell

The Center ‘s objective is to help individuals/students to overcome their immediate problems, stress, anxiety, fatigue, anger, patience level and to equip them to face future challenges. The center also strives to encourage & develop special abilities and right attitudes among students. The activities include PDP sessions , Guest lectures, Counselling sessions by Psychology Experts and Doctors.

REPORT ON COUNSELING CELL

In the present fast paced life all individuals are victims of various psychological troubles. The working individuals are prone to stress, anxiety, fatigue, lower patience levels, anger etc., Counselling Cell aims at developing positive mental health, stress management. It also helps students get in touch with their feelings and understanding different challenges, deviations in this competitive world. Hence in association with NIMHANS, Well Being, College conducted student sessions on 28th August 2017, 21st September 2017, 24th October 2017

Motivational Programme for Students: College students are prone to several critical and stressful situations and often end up doing nothing. Getting professional help can support children in different ways. In order to eliminate all the possible hurdles which hamper their chances of success, our Principal, Dr. S. Anil Kumar took keen initiative conducting motivational session for our students. By his impetus, Counselling Cell in association with NIMHANS, Well Being centre could organise session for the students of B.Com, B.B.M, B.C.A, and M.Com. Around 75 students showed their interest in attending session on Conflict Solution, /prevention of suicide, Developing Resilience and Stress / Time Management, and Interpersonal Relations.

Future Prospects: Well Being Centre, B.T.M. Layout, suggested on providing individual counselling for the students who wish to discuss particular issues relative to his/her academic and personal life. Where the counsellor will assist students in clarifying goals and exploring options to problems through careful listening and suggesting new perspective for consideration to lead their life with great success.
